The General Post Office and the adjacent Philatelic Store were officially opened by guest-of-honour, Minister for Communications and Information, Associate Professor Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, on 9 October 2017. The occasion marked a significant milestone in the postal history of Singapore, and saw the release of the commemorative stamp issue, General Post Office of Singapore.
