Overview
Singapore is a melting pot of cultures, with Chinese, Malay and Indian ethnic groups comprising its sociocultural fabric. It is well-known to be a society where a hybrid of cultures and communities of different faiths and beliefs coexist and live harmoniously. Singapore’s event calendar is marked with holidays and celebrations of festivals all year round, ranging from religious celebrations to socio-cultural festivities, all of which reflect Singapore’s rich heritage of mixture of cultures, each with its own unique set of beliefs, values and traditions. In this stamp issue, four major festivals are graphically depicted, these are Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali and Christmas.
