Overview
Coming into the Singapore harbour, one will be awed by the inspiring skyscrapers reaching for the skies. The modern city skyline was not there overnight, rather it has been evolving over the years.
Depicted in this set of stamps are the scenes of the modern skyline as well as a view of Singapore at the beginning of the 20th century, capturing effectively in the stamps Singapore at a historical moment in time and its transformation today.
In this unique stamp issue, there is a set of 3 stamps showing various angles of the modern city skyline.
In addition, there are 2 miniature sheets, one depicting the present city skyline on a S$5 stamp and another a scene of Singapore circa 1900 with a S$1 stamp. Unlike our usual stamp issues, the stamps in these two miniature sheets are not available in single stamp format.
The presentation pack will consist of the three stamps and the two miniature sheets all in one pack making it a lovely collectible and a beautiful record of Singapore skyline from the past to the present.
The miniature sheet incorporating the $5 stamp will be done in intaglio and offset lithography, beautifully engraved by the world renowned engraver, Mr Czeslaw Slania.
To complement the two different era depicted on stamps, two first day covers are specially designed and available for collectors.
