Festivals

Issue date 07 Oct 1998

Overview

The range of festivals and events in Singapore is truly remarkable. This is not surprising as Singapore is a multi-racial country with people of different faiths and religions.

This set of eight stamps features four of Singapore's large repertoire of festivals. The festivals featured on stamps are Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas. The stamps are printed in a se-tenant block of four designs for the No-Value Indicator stamps and four separate designs for the 30c stamps.

The pre-cancelled first day cover and presentation pack will have the complete set of eight stamps.

In addition to the gummed back stamps, the four NVI stamps will also be available in peel & stick format. The peel & stick NVI stamps come in sheetlets of 20 stamps for each of the four festivals. As these are not serviced under SODA, a special order form is enclosed with this issue of Miniature World for the convenience of those who wish to purchase the peel & stick stamps.

So remember to use these festival stamps when you post a festive greeting card!
