Overview
Our Heritage Neighbourhoods: Anchors of Continuity. This series of six stamps portrays a selection of Singapore’s historic residential neighbourhoods: Blair Plain, Townerville, Adam Park, Tiong Bahru, Monk’s Hill, and Dakota Crescent. Spanning the late 19th century to the eve of Singapore’s self-government in 1959, these neighbourhoods showcase a rich evolution of architectural and planning styles, from ornate terraces houses to bungalows and pioneering public housing. Each precinct reflects the unique character and social history of its time and community, serving as a vital link between our diverse pasts and the shared aspirations of future generations. Together, they celebrate the enduring charm of Singapore’s rich heritage.
