Overview
The set of three stamps was issued to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the People's Association (PA). The PA was established on 1 July 1960, with the primary mission of fostering racial harmony and social cohesion among the diverse population of Singapore. In the early years of nation-building, the government recognised the critical need to unite its people, who were a mix of different races, languages, and cultures. The PA and its network of community centres served as a vital bridge between the government and the people, providing a platform for citizens to interact, mingle, and build a shared identity.
These stamps collectively portray a vision of a harmonious, active, and culturally vibrant society – a testament to the progress made in the first decade of the PA and the government's nation building efforts.
