Overview
Singapore's industrialisation programme has reached a stage where it has become necessary to expand her exports to keep pace with her economic expansion and growth. There is also a need to continue to attract investment that will bring in industries with higher technological content besides encouraging existing industries to upgrade the present level of skills.
The Prosperity through Quality and Reliability (PQR) Campaign, organised by the Government through the Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research (SISIR) and jointly with the Singapore Manufacturers Association (SMA) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), will it is hoped instil and arouse a national commitment and awareness of the importance of quality and reliability to Singapore's continuing prosperity. One of the objectives of the Campaign is to project not only the quality and reliability of Singapore-made goods and services but also the dependability and skills of her workers.
Four stamps in the values of 15c, 35c, 75c and $1/- depicting the theme of "Prosperity through Quality and Reliability" are being issued to commemorate the POR Campaign.
