In support of the SG Cares Movement, our national movement to foster a more caring and inclusive society, the Singapore Mascots stamp issue features five iconic mascots representing a unique aspect of Singapore’s spirit of inclusion, compassion and kindness from the heart. This series brings together Nila ( advocating active sports ), Sharity ( advocating caring and sharing ), Singa ( advocating kindness ), Captain Green ( advocating caring for the environment ) and Water Wally ( championing water conservation ).

NILA of Sport Singapore

Nila is a courageous and passionate lion with a face shaped like a heart and an embodiment of sportsmanship and friendship. First introduced as the official mascot of Singapore National Games 2012, it is today synonymous with all sporting activities in Singapore, including the 28th SEA Games and 8th ASEAN Para Games. With his name taken from Singapura's founder Sang Nila Utama, the sporty Nila inspires determination in the face of challenges, passion for excellence and comradeship to all.

SHARITY of Community Chest

The charitable Sharity, a friendly pink elephant, is the mascot of Community Chest. His name combines "share" and "charity", and he is the biggest advocate of caring and sharing with the less privileged. A popular mascot since the 80s, Sharity is now guiding new generations of youths, demonstrating to them the deep joy in giving and volunteering to make a difference in the lives of others. Fun fact: His birthday falls on Children's Day!

SINGA of the Singapore Kindness Movement

Singa the cuddly kindness lion is a nostalgic icon of Singapore dating back to the 80s. He used to be known as the Courtesy Lion. An ambassador of how a kind word or action goes a long way, Singa wants to encourage Singaporeans to be kind and gracious. Singa also symbolises the strength of our diverse community built on kindness and graciousness. Singa's long-time presence as a Singapore mascot underscores that we are responsible for the type of society we want to create, and how our choices really make us who we are.

CAPTAIN GREEN of Clean and Green Singapore

Captain Green is the environmentally-friendly mascot for the Clean and Green Singapore (CGS) movement. Familiar to many Singaporeans, the affable amphibian inspires everyone to adopt sustainable lifestyle practices towards a cleaner and greener Singapore. WATER WALLY of Public Utilities Board

Water Wally is an expert on everything about water and a familiar symbol of Singapore's water story. A friendly and helpful droplet, Water Wally's mission is to promote water conservation, reminding everyone to play a part in protecting our precious water resources and keeping our waterways clean. Water Wally is wildly popular with young children and is determined to help build a nation of water savers with a simple message - Make Every Drop Count!
