Zodiac Series - Horse

Issue date 10 Jan 2002

Overview

Year 2002 is the year of the Horse, the seventh zodiac animal in the cycle. It is said that the year of the Horse will be lively and high-spirited, when decisions and projects will be incorporated at high speed and efficiency.

To be released on 10 January 2002, this first stamp issue of year 2002 is a set of two stamps (No-value indicator & $2) depicting graphical designs of the energetic horse.

As with the past zodiac issues, a mini-sheet consisting of 9 sets of the Zodiac horse stamps will be available for sale. To make the Horse mini-sheet extra special, special stamps are incorporated in the mini-sheet - a no-value indicator stamp produced with 99.9% silver and a $2 stamp printed in genuine 22-carat gold.

2002 is the year of the Water Horse. What is more appropriate than to depict the two Horse Stamps in the precious metal of gold and silver, symbolising resilience, a characteristic of water.

In addition, the Golden horse represents the liveliness and dynamism of the animal while the Silver horse represents its elegance and stateliness. As a complete sheet, the product will add a striking and meaningful piece to your collection.
