Ardent Collectors can look forward to a series of Zodiac animal stamps issued by the Singapore Philatelic Bureau. The Rat, the first animal in the 12-year cycle will make its debut on 9 Feb 96. This issue comprises two graphically designed rats valued at 22c (No-Value Indicator) and $2.

For the first time, this issue will be printed in a very limited range of mini stamp sheets of 18 stamps (9 sets of stamps) per sheet. Printed on the selvedge of the mini sheets is the inscription "Year of the Rat", and the colour guides are in the shape of rats instead of the usual dots. This mini sheet has been produced in response to requests from collectors.

These Rat stamps will also be used on special exhibition souvenir sheets to commemorate the coming exhibitions which the Singapore Philatelic Bureau will be participating in 1996. So do look out for these sheets as well if you are interested in collecting them.
