The official residence of the President of Singapore and gazetted as a national monument in 1992, the Istana is a 41-hectare oasis set back from the bustle of Orchard Road. The building has not only witnessed our country’s progress, but also held treasured memories for the thousands of Singaporeans who have visited its stately rooms and beautiful grounds. This stamp issue for the 150th anniversary of Istana is released in honour of an icon of our national heritage, dignity and hospitality.
