In 1968, the Republic of Singapore Air Force [RSAF] began as the Singapore Air Defence Command. 40 Years on, it has transformed into a First Class Air Force, capable of full spectrum operations with its specialised team of World Class People - the Heart of the 3rd Generation RSAF.

This set of 5 commemorative stamps will showcase the diverse range of vocations which make up the RSAF. The Pilot vocation is featured in the 1st Local stamp, the Weapon Systems Officer [Command, Control and Communications] vocation is featured in the 2nd Local stamp, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Pilot vocation is featured in the 65c stamp, the Air Engineering Officer and the Senior Technician vocations are featured in the 80c stamp and the Weapon Systems Officer [Air Defence Artillery] vocation is featured in the $1.10 stamp.

The RSAF Open House will be open to the public at Paya Lebar Air Base on 30 - 31 Aug 2008, from 9 am to 7 pm.
