Building A Green and Resilient Singapore

Issue date 08 Aug 2022

Overview

Since our early years, Singapore has sought to balance economic development with environmental protection and social inclusion.

In 1972, Singapore was one of the first countries in the world to establish a Ministry of the Environment to tackle issues such as pollution and environmental health.

Today, Singapore is one of the cleanest and greenest cities in the world. We have a resilient supply of clean drinking water and safe food. We have a sound waste management system. We enjoy clean air with blue skies, as well as beautiful reservoirs and waterways. The recently launched Singapore Green Plan 2030 demonstrates our renewed focus and commitment to sustainability in Singapore, with an emphasis on climate mitigation and adaptation, zero waste and a circular economy.

This stamp issue signifies the work of our nation in building a green and resilient Singapore.
