Overview
National Day - A time of celebration and reflection.
This set of stamps marks Singapore's 38th National Day with illustrations of familiar symbols and icons that Singaporeans and visitors alike can easily identify with.
To be released on 9 August 2003, the stamps will feature the State Flag, Vanda Miss Joaquim, the Merlion and People of Singapore as represented by the four boys of four different races reflecting Singapore's multi-cultural heritage.
It has been more than 10 years since a stamp issue was released to commemorate the Nation's birthday.
With this revival, we are donating $1.20 from every First Day Cover sold, to the charities for the elderly, under the wings of the Community Chest of Singapore. As a special arrangement, the First Day Covers will be available for sale from 9 to 11 August 2003.
Collectors can pick up a list of philatelic products commemorating this important day. Apart from the gummed-back mint stamps, there is also a miniature sheet of the four stamps set against a backdrop of Singapore's skyline.
For this commemorative issue, collectors can also add in their collection a special limited set of 3 maxicards.
