Good news to all you stamp collectors! The Singpex '90 Cum First FIAP International Youth & Thematic Stamp Exhibition (or Singpex '90 in short) will be held from 16 to 19 August 1990 at the Pan Pacific Hotel. This international stamp exhibition is organised by Singpex '90 Organising Committee which is formed by the Association of Singapore Philatelists comprising local philatelists and members of major stamp clubs in Singapore.
Singpex '90 will indeed be a significant event in Singapore. It is organised as part of the celebrations of our nation's 25 Years of Independence. The exhibition, which has the patronage of the Federation of Inter-Asia Philately, is sponsored by Singapore Telecom.
Singpex '90 will also be the largest stamp exhibition ever held in Singapore. It covers two storeys with a total floor space of more than 1,400 sq.m. Over 250 exhibits from 15 countries are expected to be displayed. Singapore Telecom will provide 1,000 international-sized stamp exhibition frames for the exhibition. It will also release a set of stamps and stamp booklet commemorating Singapore's 25 Years of Independence on 16 August 1990, which coincides with the opening day of Singpex '90.
Postal administrations and collectors from all over the world are expected to attend. Also expected at Singpex '90 are visitors en-route from Stamp World London 90 Exhibition in London to New Zealand 1990 World Stamp Exhibition in New Zealand.
Admission to this great exhibition is free. So see you there!
