Come July this year, Singapore will be abuzz with excitement as eminent individuals from the world of sports, business, politics and royalty will converge on Singapore to attend the 117th International Olympic Committee [ IOC ] Session. The annual IOC Session is a gathering of IOC Members where it discusses reports presented by upcoming Olympic Games Committees, IOC Commissions and makes decision on bids for hosting various games or discusses other matters related to sports.

One of the main agenda of the Session is to elect the Host City for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

This set of commemorative stamps marks this special event in the world of sports. As sports is the central theme of the meeting, the designer has incorporated silhouettes of sportsmen playing all various types of sports in the stamp designs with the world map in the background.
