Scouting is possibly the most outstanding and well established of Youth Movements. It represents the finest of traditions uniting boys throughout the world in a common cause - that of becoming an able and efficient Scout through fun and adventure, and at the same time being of service to other people who may be in need of help.

More than 16 million Scouts in 150 Scouting countries and territories are active in a programme that uses the same basic principles formulated by its founder, Robert Baden-Powell, 75 years ago.

Whether it is in the developed or developing world, Scouting reflects the needs of the particular society. Whatever their culture, religion or race, Scouts belong, in a spirit of equality, to a world-wide movement dedi cated to peace, friendship and service to community and to nation.

A set of four stamps in the values of 10¢, 35¢, 50d and 75e will be issued on 15 October 1982 to commemorate the "75th Anniversary of the World Scout Movement"
