Spanning 17 hectares, Bird Paradise is home to more than 3,500 birds from over 400 species. The new bird park is located at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore’s integrated nature and wildlife destination. Bird Paradise is home to 10 habitats, including 8 immersive multi-species walk-through aviaries and 2 thematic zones. Visitors can experience up-close encounters with some of the world’s rarest and most colourful birds. 24% of the avian species in Bird Paradise are threatened species. This is the highest percentage listed under human care in a single zoological park. Bird Paradise continues in its endeavour to be at the forefront of avian conservation, growing its capacity for species breeding within the park and developing targeted conservation programmes for threatened species such as the Negros Bleeding-heart, Knobbed Hornbill and more, in Singapore and around the region, through its conservation arm, Mandai Nature. This stamp issue commemorates the opening of the Bird Paradise.
