This stamp issue is put together jointly by Singapore Post and Liechtenstein Post for the strengthening of relationship.

Located between Austria and Switzerland, Liechtenstein lies at the heart of Europe. It is the fourth-smallest state in Europe and sixth-smallest country in the world, and is home to many historical and cultural attractions.

The capital of Liechtenstein is Vaduz which is also the home to the Prince. Though Vaduz is a small town, it is home to many historical and cultural attractions and filled with places of interests. One will discover impressive modern and traditional architecture as well as fine works of art and fascinating museums.

Illustrated in one of the stamps in this issue is a portion of the painting "Looking at Vaduz" by Ms Hong Sek Chern. The painting is an attempt to depict the town of Vaduz in a non-homogenous way. The image is an aerial view of the town of Vaduz, aspects of the national bank and Vaduz cathedral were incorporated into the middle portion and suggestions of snowscape in other portions.

Singapore lies at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. Singapore is a bustling and thriving cosmopolitan city with landscape populated by high-rise buildings and gardens, and many have described Singapore as the "garden city" or the "little red dot", that provides world-class living environment. One interesting and remarkable facet about Singapore is a ubiquitous collage of cultures, where people of different ethnicities and beliefs coexist in unity. Many are marveled by the vibrant multicultural and harmonious blend of cultural experience that is uniquely Singapore.

Depicted in the other stamp in this stamp issue is the artwork of the perception of Singapore by Mr Jens W. Beyrich. The design comes from a mathematical background. Though complexity in six equally sided and sized triangles with twelve possible different arrangements, it can fit all the 12 different pieces into a surface of a rhomb with a six-fold side length. Rotating the rhomb structure around one of its large angle corners generates a regular hexagon, and with some imagination, a visual of a cube. The artwork symbolises virtues and essentials of Singapore that has equilibrium with amazing progress and growth despite complexity.
