Overview
The completion of the Philippines-Singapore Submarine Cable marks the co-operation and mutual understanding not only between these two countries, but also the spirit among the ASEAN member countries.
This $116 million submarine cable is the first segment of the ASEAN Submarine Cable Network, which will link the five ASEAN countries. It is approximately 1,500 nautical miles across the South China Sea and will provide at least 1,380 telephone circuits of nominal 4 kilohertz bandwidth.
The submarine cable terminates at Tanjong Katong Cable Station in Singapore and Currimao Cable Station in North Luzon, Philippines.
