Overview
Issued on 8th August 1980, the ASEAN Submarine Cable Network (Indonesia–Singapore Cable) stamp issue commemorates the completion of the Indonesia-Singapore section of the cable network, an important infrastructure link that connected Ancol in Indonesia to Changi in Singapore, expanding the region's early telecommunications capability. The stamp design features a map of Southeast Asia highlighting the undersea cable routes with stylised graphics of telecommunications data pathways and mapping elements.
