Cage Maker (40¢) The cage maker requires patience and skills in creating the bird cages. Each cage is a piece of art and demonstrates the skilful craftmanship of the creator. Even the application of lacquer glaze would need a skilful hand by the cage maker.
Garland Maker (60¢) Garland making is a popular trade among the Indians and takes many years to perfect the skills. Garlands play an important part during religious offerings and prayers in the Indian community. They are also used for festive occasions such as weddings and during Deepavali.
Kite Maker (70¢) The kite maker needs patience, precision and delicate craftsmanship in order to create a wide range of kites in different shapes and sizes, colours and designs. The most common shapes are square and diamond. Kite-making may require various steps depending on the complexity of its design.
Chinese Calligrapher (90¢) Chinese calligraphy is one of the highest forms of traditional Chinese art. Many of the Chinese calligraphers took on the role of letter writers as well. These calligraphers were mostly men and were found in the old Chinatown district.
