"Better homes for better living"

The upgrading of Singapore's Housing Development Board (HDB) estate is a major programme that gives a new lease of life to old public housing estates. Such improvement works is welcomed by the residents as it enhances the quality of living in a HDB community.

This set of stamps comprises four denominations: NVI, 30c, 70c and $1. Each of the stamps shows typical improvement works such as new block facade, landscaped gardens, children's playground, jogging tracks, vehicle drop-off porch, covered linkways and additional space for the flat, in this case, a balcony. All these improved facilities combined to give residents the feeling of living in a totally new environment.
