Overview
When it comes to food in Singapore, anyone along the street is able to rattle off a few food dishes that are famous and representative of Singapore. Even when tourists arrive in Singapore, there are a few must-try food dishes for them to savour and allow the taste to linger in their memories.
In this joint stamp issue, selected food from Macao, together with our own "must-try" Singapore food are featured. The dishes are Chicken Rice, Laksa, Roti Prata and Satay [each 65 cents] from Singapore, coupled with famous dishes from Macao e.g. Crispy Fried Chicken, Yangzhou Fried Rice, Meat Stew "Alentejana" style and Grilled Codfish slices [each 1st Local]. In addition, a miniature sheet featuring Clay Pot Rice [with $2 value] from Macao and Chilli Crab [with $2 value] from Singapore, serves the table with variety and to further entice the taste buds of Singaporeans.
