Overview
Since the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the Holy See and Singapore on 24 June 1981, the relationships between both nations have strengthened and flourished as Singapore and the Holy See have the common desire to promote the values of justice, peace and harmony in Asia and beyond.
This year 2006 will mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and the Holy See and this set of 2 stamps commemorates this significant occasion.
The stamps illustrated by Vatican City artist depict the Singapore's Merlion as well as the beautiful dome of the Basilica of Saint Peter, the most prominent building inside the Vatican City in the 50c stamp while the $2 stamp feature the state flags of both countries.
