The current Corals & Reef Life Definitives launched in 1994, will be replaced by a new series bearing the theme of Land Transportation. The new low value definitives will be released in March 97 and the new high value definitives will be released in April 97.

The 1973 Flowers Definitive stamps were issued to replace the previous definitive stamps. The stamp designs are graphical illustrations of the following flowers - Agave Angustifolia Marginata, Painted Nettle, Madagascar Periwinkle, Helianthus Angustifolius, Ucuala Grandis, Wedelia Thilobata, Chrysanthemum Frutescens, Costus Malortieanus, Barberton Daisy.

The Singapore Landmarks stamp series illustrated the nation's story and aspirations. Each stamp portrayed a different facet of Singapore's identity in the early 1970s, showcasing a blend of culture, progress, and heritage. Featured in this stamp series were Jurong Bird Park, National Theatre, City Hall and Singapore River. Together, these stamps formed a cohesive narrative of a young nation's aspirations and served as a visual scrapbook of a nation in the making.

This year, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited and Singapore Philatelic Bureau celebrate their 10th year of partnership since launching the Care-for-Nature stamp series to promote and develop greater awareness and interest in the natural environment of Singapore.

The 10th Anniversary of National Service commemorative stamps were issued on 12th March 1977. The set consists of three multicolour stamps with iconic military-themed depictions such as tanks and planes, our military assets and the operationally ready soldiers. The stamps celebrated a decade of Singapore’s National Service.

Our over 250,000 citizen-soldiers are now called Operationally Ready National Servicemen or NSmen for short. The new term replaces “reservists” to better reflect the role of our NSmen as fully trained and highly skilled who are operationally ready 24 hours a day.
